A long overdue return visit to our sister Lodge in the town. A fine "Second, Square or Fellowcraft Degree" was worked in good order with substitute candidate Bro.Kenny Grieve, who fought his way down through the Burnturk snowdrifts to attend. Good to see various visitors, particularly Brethren from "Lodge St.Clair of Balbeggie # 867" Thornton, and the redoubtable Bro Donald McGuire PM of Lodge "St.Clair of Dysart # 520", with whom I had a most interesting and informative discussion. It is always good to visit and meet so many familiar faces, some whom you can't always put a name to, but of course that will improve with time. Such matters can only serve to hopefully increase the Harmony within the Masonic Fraternity in Cupar

My first visit to this Lodge in the old "railway town" of Thornton where cousins lived and where others worked on the steam trains.Despite a freezing cold night with thick ice all around, a very warm welcome at the local bowling club where the Lodge meets. The expected candidate for initiation called off late-Bro.Winston Day PM "Lodge St.Regulus # 77" was happy to stand in.A very fine working of the "First Degree" foll owed.Congratulations to all who were involved. Some slight but interesting differences in comparison to ours-especially the explanation of the "grip".Unable to remain long after due to work, but a nice visit which I'd be keen to repeat.

Installation of the New RWM - Bro. Stuart Murdoch - and very well attended by visiting brethren and Provincial. Again warm hospitality on offer although we didn't dine until after 10:30pm which was a little late but I was honoured to be asked to deliver the Tyler's Toast which I did in my own unique way... Thanks to all concerned.

Another first degree for this busy lodge and carried out in their usual high quality manner - the last under the current Master as Stuart takes over the Chair of King Solomon later this week.
