The 49ers Scheme

This innovative scheme was started by lodge 19 in September 2012. It encourages members of the Craft to visit all 49 Lodges within the Province of Fife and Kinross and at the same time collects money for charity. Some lodges get less visitors than others and this scheme was an attempt to get brethren from across the Province (and beyond) to visit more often and further afield.

How it Works
On payment of a £10 fee to Lodge 19 treasurer each member is issued with a members badge and a passport:
This contains the names of all 49 Lodges across the Province. Members visit each one and get the RWM or Secretary to sign the book. Simples!
On completion of all 49, simply return the book to Lodge 19 where you will be issued with a completion certificate.
All excess monies will go to a local charity.
All lodges benefit from more visitors.
More than 100 have already signed up for the scheme!

Provincial Grand Master Andrew E Paterson was the first to complete the scheme. He is seen here along with the RWM of Lodge 19, Alec Cowe, with his certificate. Congratulations!

Bob Shepherd
Bro Bob Shepherd, Secy of Lodge Minto and Hon Grand Secy, was the first non-provincial member to complete his 49. Bob has rarely visited in over 30 years in the Craft but has now more than made up for it! A living example of the benefits of the scheme. Congratulations Bob!
